My 4-year-old child has been home five of the last seven school days with various COVID-19 symptoms, most of which would not have kept him home pre-pandemic. I was able to teach both my synchronous and asynchronous classes anyway while he watched TV because it is fully online. If a Pfizer vaccine is approved for ages 5+ by the end of October, we’re only talking about people with children under 5 for Spring semester, and hopefully by Fall semester even they will be vaccinated and almost all parents can return to campus.
